Carbon Fiber Swimming Pools and Whirlpools
A high-quality, lightweight, durable and versatile product: carbon fiber is used by Centro Italia Yachting® in order carry out the yacht pool or whirlpool lining.
Pool and whirlpool carbon fiber lining is first created through autoclave, by manufacturing polymerized carbon molds and then laying it on the pool or mini-pool.
The Carbon Molding System
The autoclave molding system makes use of pre-impregnated materials, i.e. fibers impregnated with a pre-catalyzed resin which reacts optimally at certain temperatures.
Fibers are placed inside the mold, which is then closed and positioned inside the autoclave, where temperature and pressure setting systems generate the finished lining. Parameters of the pressure exerted by the autoclave and the vacuum created by the mold ensure optimal processing.
Creation Phases of Carbon Fiber Linings
To ensure a top quality final product, we carry out a rigorous long and complex process, which includes the following phases:
- On-board verification of samples for lining selection;
- Creation of main sections;
- Molding of components in pre-preg autoclave polymerized carbon;
- Assembly of components at Arca Compositi;
- Dry test of lining on board;
- Painting;
- Gluing to the tub.
