Moreover, our wellness cabins can be designed as self-supporting structures or integrated into the existing interiors of the vessels, in collaboration with the shipyard. The types of saunas available from Centro Italia® include:

A1 fireproof saunas for safe relaxation

All our saunas are custom-made and crafted from heat-treated aspen wood, resistant to the marine atmosphere. For cabin interiors, we install an automatic sprinkler system integrated with the fire detection system which suppresses fire produced by wood in case of fire. Usually, we use the Early Suppression Fast Response (ESFR) system, i.e., sprinklers capable of activating even in early stages of ignition. Optical or aspiration detectors complete all safety measures by recognizing the presence of smoke or an increase in temperature.

Centro Italia® offers the DINAMICA BUSINESS 360 policy, an insurance coverage valid both in Italy and abroad. This policy provides protection throughout the entire period of work in the shipyard and continues to offer coverage even after delivery, for the entire duration of the warranty period.

The territorial coverage includes:

RC0: valid in all countries worldwide.
RCT: extended globally, excluding the USA, Canada, and Mexico.

Safety standards for nautical saunas

The nautical saunas created by Centro Italia Yachting® comply with the safety requirements for vessels, particularly regarding fire resistance of partitions and insulation. These specifications refer to international maritime safety standards that protect passengers and crew in the event of a fire, based on the following class divisions:

Class A Partitions: Fire Resistance and Safety

Class A partitions are made with materials designed to ensure fire resistance for a specific period, helping to limit the spread of flames between the vessel's compartments. The classification of partitions (A-60, A-30, B-15, etc.) reflects the number of minutes of fire resistance.

A-60 Standard: Designed for vessels over 500 GT, this standard requires partitions to withstand fire for 60 minutes. It is commonly applied to large ships, offering a high level of fire protection.

A-30 Standard: Designed for vessels under 500 GT, this standard provides 30 minutes of fire resistance. Although intended for smaller vessels, it still ensures adequate protection in emergency situations.

These standards ensure onboard fire safety, adapting to different types and sizes of vessels.

Class B Partitions: Fire Safety for Coastal Navigation Yachts

The B-15 standard ensures 15 minutes of fire resistance and is specifically designed for yachts intended for short distances or coastal navigation. This standard takes into account the higher likelihood of a quick rescue intervention, providing adequate protection for vessels operating in short-range areas.

These regulations are often included in international conventions, such as SOLAS (Safety of Life at Sea), which defines the minimum requirements for the design, equipment, and operation of ships, with the goal of ensuring safety at sea. Yachts, depending on their size and intended use (private or commercial), may be subject to specific regulations that vary depending on the flag under which they operate. To ensure compliance with all applicable provisions, it is essential to consult a maritime law expert or contact the relevant authorities.
