3D Survey
Our non-contact 3D measurement system, calibrated with artifacts certified by PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt), captures the complex geometries of the installation surface for customized pools on yachts and large boats. These high-precision scans, accurate to a hundredth of a millimeter, record details imperceptible to the human eye. Following the survey, we conduct three-dimensional rendering, 3D digitization, and manual adjustments to refine construction.
Optical Tracking System
Centro Italia Yachting®’s optical tracking system measures and evaluates water oscillation to design glass or acrylic walls suitable for use in motion. This technology is applied across multiple phases:
- Pool and whirlpool filling: The system displays equipment displacement margins, even with millimetric movements.
- Pool or whirlpool usage: Structures are tested to simulate human movements, including counter-current swimming.
- Fluid speed measurement: Monitoring fluid velocity is a preliminary step for designing pool accessories.
Boat Pools: Features and Technologies
Our pools and whirlpools for large vessels are functional, lightweight, and moldable, ensuring maximum onboard safety. Structures can include:
- Self-supporting structure: Female model in polyurethane with a vinyl ester-reinforced tank. Linings are available in gelcoat or 1x1 mosaic for tight radii.
- Recessed structure: Customized in preformed high-density nautical EPS or XPS, glued to the ship hull and made waterproof. Mosaic linings with epoxy grouting are commonly used.
Glass walls and floors can be integrated, with optional luxury features such as waterfalls and hydrotherapy.
Special CEI 18-49 navigation cables connect electrical panels to pumps through dedicated channels, recreating land-based system conditions, with the vessel’s metallic hull serving as a disperser. Pipes are available in rigid PVC PN10 or flexible PVC.
Underwater accessories, including spotlights and fiber-optic lighting, are protected to IP68 standards, while non-immersed accessories meet IP56 standards. Backup units, typically made of steel, include autonomous heating and filtration systems, containing the necessary water volume to fill the pool as required.
Glass Walls
We use Methacrylate PMMA or Laminated Glass for pool walls.
- PMMA sheets: Lightweight and easy to install, ideal for curved or hard-to-reach areas. Excellent thermoplastic properties, rigidity, and 92% transparency.
- Laminated glass: Extraclear Float Laminated Glass with transparent PVB or SGP. Features high water resistance, brilliance, neutral transmittance, and safety against fragmentation. Sheets can be matched through transparent films for a seamless effect.
PMMA sheets are straightforward to install, making them ideal for boat pools and whirlpools positioned in hard-to-reach areas.
Methacrylate PMMA is frequently used for curved glass walls and allows to obtain very tight curve radii, making it adaptable to any shape. The reduced weight of the sheets also makes them suitable for installation on small and lightweight vessels.
For laminated glass walls, Centro Italia Yachting® uses Extraclear Float Laminated Glass (parallel or tempered curved) with transparent PVB or SGP laminated glass which stands out for:
- High resistance to water force.
- Outstanding brilliance and transparency.
- Neutral transmittance with excellent contrast and color rendering.
- Protection in case of glass breakage, as it does not release fragments.
- Possibility of matching sheets through transparent films.
Additional Functions and Decorations
- Soundproofing: Advanced techniques ensure an extremely quiet swimming pool, enhancing comfort during navigation.
-
Covers: Automatic or semi-rigid walkable covers help maintain water temperature and cleanliness.
-
Decorative customization: Floors, mosaics, tiles, and other decorative effects can be tailored to the client’s personal tastes.
At Centro Italia Yachting®, the margin for customization knows no bounds.
