Hot Tub on a 30-Meter Yacht: Challenges and Design

Installing a hot tub on a yacht of approximately 30 meters represents a complex technical challenge. On vessels of this size, every deck area is designed for a specific function, and the space available for wellness systems is generally very limited.
This is the case of Disco Volante, a yacht built over 30 years ago by Cantieri Navali Lavagna (Admiral), currently undergoing refit in 2026 at the Marina di Stabia shipyard in Italy. In this context, the intervention becomes even more significant: integrating a new wellness area within an existing structure, rethinking spaces originally intended for other technical functions.
In this project, the owner—a great enthusiast of swimming pools—entrusted Centro Italia Yachting with the task of identifying a solution that would allow the integration of a true hot tub on board the yacht.
Jacuzzi Installation on Yachts: Solutions and Space Optimization
The design solution stemmed from a key decision: freeing up the necessary space at the bow by removing the crane and tender. This modification made it possible to create the technical area required for the pool installation without compromising the overall balance of the deck.
The installed unit is a Jacuzzi Profile with an overflow system, equipped with an integrated balance tank. This configuration allows the installation of the pool even in limited spaces, eliminating the need for a separate balance tank—often an unfeasible solution on yachts of this size.
The supporting structure of the pool was built using an AISI 316 stainless steel frame, a material particularly suitable for marine environments due to its high corrosion resistance.
Pool Structure and Fixing on the Yacht: Technical and Design Integration
Once the pool position was defined, the project required careful integration between structure, systems, and deck design. The available space proved to be perfectly compatible with the pool dimensions, allowing for extremely precise technical and structural installation.
Particular attention was given to the fixing system: the structure was anchored to the yacht base through grouting, ensuring a solid and long-lasting connection with the existing metal framework. This system allows proper load distribution and absorbs the stresses typical of the marine environment, ensuring stability, safety, and long-term structural continuity.
To guarantee perfect aesthetic integration with the yacht, the pool cladding was made using the same wood as the yacht’s deck, creating visual continuity that makes the pool a natural extension of the onboard architecture.
Final Result: A Perfectly Integrated Hot Tub on Board
The result is a hot tub perfectly harmonized with the yacht, capable of combining functionality, structural strength, and aesthetics. This project demonstrates how, even on relatively small vessels, it is possible to achieve high-level wellness solutions through precise and well-engineered design.
