The pool on a yacht does not fill
When a yacht’s pool does not fill properly, it means that the filling process, which is essential to ensure optimal operation, may be hampered by various technical problems. From malfunctioning valves to any problems with the pumping system, the reasons may vary. Here are the most common problems that can prevent the correct filling of the pool on yachts and the most effective solutions to solve them.
Manual valves
If the pool uses manual valves, make sure that the valve is fully open. A common problem with manual valves, especially older ones, is that the valve lever can move without the body or internal butterfly moving, remaining locked. This may be due to wear or accumulation of deposits. In this case, the valve will need to be replaced.

This may be due to wear or accumulation of deposits. In this case, the valve will need to be replaced.
Automatic valves
In systems with automatic valves, it is necessary to check the arrival of voltage (usually 24V) to the valve using a tester. If no power is supplied, the problem may be in the electrical panel where there may be a faulty component to replace. In addition, in systems with touch screen control, it is essential to check that the filling and discharge setting has been configured correctly.
Another common cause of failure is the solenoid in the motorized valve, which is usually located on the valve head. If the solenoid is burned, you can use the manual switch on the solenoid to open the valve manually until it is replaced.
If the voltage reaches the automatic valve correctly, it is important to check that the valve motor is working, otherwise it must be replaced. In some cases, you may need to reprogram the valve via the touch screen control system.
Check water supply
Often, the water that fills the pool is taken by electric pumps that fish directly from the sea or a tank. If the electric pump is taking water from the sea, it must be checked that the pump is in good working condition and has not burned out. If the pump fails, it will be necessary to replace the pump.
If water is taken from a tank, in addition to checking the operation of the pump as described above, it is important to check that the tank is full. Also, check that the safety float or level probe is not defective, as it could block the electrical signal and prevent the filling of the pool. If one of these components is defective, it must be replaced.
If the tank is empty, check upstream the accessories that regulate the filling of the tank itself, such as valves, sensors or water supply pumps.
