The yacht hydromassage system is not working
There might be several reasons if the hydromassage system of your onboard pool is not working correctly. Designed to offer relax and wellness, hot tub systems are subject to common issues that, if identified promptly, can be solved easily. Following these steps will help you quickly diagnose and solve potential malfunctions, ensuring optimal comfort on board.
Hydromassage system with piezoelectric switch is not working
To solve malfunctions in systems with piezoelectric (touch) switches, follow the steps listed below.
Signal verification
To ensure the signal is functioning correctly, check that the switch is transmitting the signal properly to the electrical panel. Pay close attention to the connection between the switch and the electrical cable carrying the signal to the panel. This connection, often housed in a waterproof box located about 10–15 cm from the switch (typical cable length supplied with touch models), can be damaged by humidity. Verifying this part of the system is crucial to avoid problems.
Circuit breaker
Check the status of the circuit breaker. If it is burned out, it will need to be replaced.
Pump pre-filter
Inspect the pump pre-filter basket for cleanliness. A dirty basket can affect the system's functionality. Always keep the basket clean to ensure optimal water flow.
Check valve
Inspect the check valve on the suction pipe. If the valve is dirty, it may block water flow. Sometimes the internal plate can get stuck; in such cases, the valve must be replaced.
Hydromassage system with pneumatic button is not working
To solve malfunctions in hydromassage systems with pneumatic button, follow the steps listed below.
Button inspection
Check if the rubber on the button is damaged. If the button is full of water, it may not be able to pump air into the tubing.
Air tubing
First, check that the air tubing is still securely connected to the button and has not come loose.
Secondly, ensure that the tubing is properly connected to the starter in the electrical panel.
Finally, inspect the entire length of the tubing to ensure there are no cuts or damages. If any issues are found, replace the tubing immediately to avoid malfunctions.
Circuit breaker
As for the touch switch, check that the circuit breaker is not burned out. If positive, replace it.
Pump pre-filter
Inspect the pump pre-filter and ensure the basket is always clean to avoid water flow blockages.
Check valve
Inspect the check valve on the suction pipe. If dirty, it may block water flow. If the internal disc of the valve is stuck, the valve will need to be replaced.
